CNHC - The CNHC was established with UK Government support to regulate some complementary therapies that include, remedial and sports massage.
The CNHC key purpose is to protect the public. The Department of Health has recommended that where CNHC registers the complementary therapy in question the public should consult with someone who is CNHC registered.

SMTO - The organisation has existed since 1992 to provide a service to the public, the massage therapists and the profession and works with the UK General Council for Massage Therapy (GCMT) in developing and maintaining standards.
